Human Services Projects

EC has approximately 20 years of experience as the Agency Consultant to the DHS, including the current contract period.  As a result, EC is well experienced with the DHS facilities and personnel throughout the state where EC has performed projects involving Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM), Lead Based Paint (LBP) and other Hazardous Materials.  In addition, we have completed large scale projects through the regular A/E selection process for DPMC in DHS facilities.

EC has provided professional, technical, and analytical services associated with the identification of hazardous building materials likely to be impacted by the secondary egress construction project. EC’s site assessment included an inspection of each building for asbestos containing materials, lead based paint and polychlorinated biphenyls. Following completion of the assessment, EC results were incorporated into assessment report for consideration by Project stakeholders. EC developed technical specifications for abatement and provided construction administration services during the remediation work.

The project scope involves the replacement of the 75-foot-tall stack and replacement of existing windows.  EC provided the site assessment of the impacted surfaces and building components for ACM, LBP and polychlorinated biphenyls.  Subsequently, EC provided the design documents for incorporation into the bid specifications.  Upon award of the project, EC provided review of the construction submittals.  During abatement, EC performed monitoring  and on-site sample analysis.

In preparation for renovations and upgrades, EC performed assessments for Lead Based Paint and Asbestos Containing Materials within King, Kennedy, Lazarus, Trading Post and Business Office Buildings.  The renovations encompassed simple re-insulation to full fit-outs.  Upon determination of the abatement necessary to facilitate the various projects, EC developed technical specifications, assisted with procurement and provided construction administration.
