Our firm has acted as environmental facility consultants and the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) consultant for the Trenton Public Schools for more than 25 years.  Environmental work has included emergency and spill response, biological investigations (West Nile Virus, Fungal and Bacteriological issues), environmental surveys, Indoor Air Quality investigations, environmental training, asbestos and lead (Pb) consulting, construction cost estimating, Phase I environmental property audits, environmental abatement design, construction administration, construction monitoring, testing, reporting and close-out.  

EC has provided inspection, design and oversight for innumerable projects within Trenton Public Schools over the years, for a wide range of environmental concerns.  

Old Bridge Township Board of Education

Our firm has acted as the environmental consultant for the Old Bridge Township Board of Education for more than 25 years.  Environmental work includes emergency and spill response, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB) investigation, environmental surveys, Indoor Air Quality investigations, environmental training, asbestos and lead (Pb) consulting, AHERA management services, abatement design, construction administration, construction monitoring, testing, reporting and close out.  

Wall Township Public Schools
Wall, New Jersey

Our firm has acted as the AHERA consultant and environmental facility consultant for the Wall Township Board of Education since 2024. Our work includes AHERA program maintenance, environmental surveys, Indoor Air Quality investigations, Right-to-Know Surveys, environmental training, asbestos and lead (Pb) consulting, construction cost estimating, environmental abatement design, construction administration, construction monitoring, testing, reporting, and close-out. We have provided consulting services for the referendum project involving large-scale renovations at six schools, including boiler replacements, HVAC upgrades, toilet room upgrades, auditorium renovations, and flooring replacement. The renovation work was divided into six contracts, each with multiple schools. We reviewed design documentation, identified data gaps, and made recommendations for additional testing. We worked with the School District and Project Architect/CM to collect and distribute data, respond to contractor RFIs, and regulatory agency information requests. During 13 abatement projects performed over the Summer Recess, we provided project management, monitoring, and close-out reporting. We obtained permits, prepared occupant notifications, and liaised with regulatory agencies.

Lawrence Township Public Schools
Lawrenceville, NJ

Our firm has acted as the AHERA consultant as well the environmental facility consultant for the Lawrence Township Public Schools since 1998. Environmental work includes the maintenance of the AHERA program, environmental surveys, Indoor Air Quality investigations, environmental training, asbestos and lead (Pb) consulting, construction cost estimating, environmental abatement design, construction administration, construction monitoring, testing, reporting and close-out.  

Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf
Ewing, New Jersey

EC has provided AHERA asbestos management services to the Katzenbach School since the 1980s. As the School’s Consultant, EC has also provided assessments, project design, construction administration services, and environmental training. Partnered with A/E firms, EC has provided industrial hygiene consulting for numerous projects on the campus, including the Energy Savings Improvement Project (ESIP). This project involved the implementation of various Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) on the approximately 30-building campus, inclusive of decentralization from the campus Boiler Plant, Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) upgrades, and demolition of unoccupied buildings. As required at each stage of project development, EC performed environmental assessments, inclusive of remediation cost estimates, and then prepared Plans and Specifications, which were incorporated into the main contract documents. EC provided asbestos abatement and universal waste removal oversight for abatement of the Mechanical Room of the High School in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:23-8, the demolition of six (6) cottages, the abatement of asbestos-containing ceiling tile from a classroom building in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:23-8, the abatement of asbestos-containing breeching insulation from the Boiler Plant in accordance with N.J.A.C. 5:23-8, as well as various small-scale abatements to facilitate upgrades.
